Man’s Reconciliation with God
March 22, 2023 | K. A. Malandain (Trumbull ‘26)
For there are still, in fact, good fruits that can be reaped from what you might be perceiving as a failure–those fruits being, a knowledge of our fallen nature as humans in the world, and a reminder of the difficulty of being a disciple of Christ. Denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following the Lord is no easy feat.
In Search of Perfect Friendship
February 1, 2023 | Yoska Guta TD ‘25
Contrary to popular belief, I don’t think our fallouts with others are due to the flaws of a select few individuals. Rather, this constant failure is due to a deep insufficiency that runs rampant within each of us. One that prevents us from being, and finding that whole and perfect friend that we all seek.
God’s Reconciliation
March 27, 2022 | By Sarah Newbury HLS
“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.” Corinthians 5:18-19 NRSV
How (Not) To Renew a City
December 31, 2021 | by Amelia Dilworth BR’23
The Pruitt-Igoe housing projects sink into the ground one broken window at a time, sections of buildings falling in waves like rows of wounded soldiers faltering to their knees before collapsing in the rubble. Smoke rises from the ground, the same color as the crumbling gray walls. Apartments lay in the rubble ripped open like carcasses. Half-exploded buildings kneel in the remains of their brothers, awaiting destruction.
This is St. Louis, Missouri. America is bombing its own city.
Definition of the Gospel, an Exercise of Brevity
Dec 2, 2012 | By Richard Lee MC ’14
The Bible course at YFA (Yale Faith and Action) is on the Epistle to Romans this semester. As homework, the students were told to prepare a one-minute long explanation on the Gospel according to what Paul presented in Romans. Here is something I wrote, which I shall copy verbatim shamelessly.
