What is Wonder

Sept 15, 2020 | By Kayla Bartsch GH ‘20

What is wonder but an apology?

Evidence of spirit flowing from soil,

a constant effulgence of that first

Utterance which produced a radiance

that is yet to be told.

An assertion that even in the cracker

crumbs wedged between the seams

of your seat, there are systems of

unimaginable complexity, giddily hidden

behind a mask of the mundane.

In a world so full, bulging out of itself

at every round, can we for a second seek

not how nor why nor what things are,

but rather grab onto the glory

that things are?
